Viewing Follett eBooks
Follett eBooks reside on Follett Library Resources's Web server. The Title Information page contains two buttons in the upper right corner - Preview and Check Out - that will allow you to access the eBook.
Pressing the Preview button opens a new browser window and allows you to "page through" the selected eBook. A preview session lasts 15 minutes, but is automatically renewed if you are still actively looking at the eBook.
Pressing the Check Out button begins the download process for the selected eBook. The download process transfers the eBook to your workstation. Reading the eBook requires the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader (free software, available at www.adobe.com).
You must first log in to use the Check Out function. Please ask your media specialist for your login information if your library allows you to check out Follett eBooks.
When asked if you would like to download the eBook, if you select the Yes button it will download the eBook file to your current workstation. If you choose the No button instead, you can access the eBook download URL at a later time by looking in My Info and clicking on the eBook title in your Checkouts section.
At the end of the eBook loan period, the checkout automatically expires and the downloaded file can no longer be opened. You may discard the expired eBook file at this time.
IMPORTANT: Please ensure that you download the eBook onto the workstation where you intend to read it for the duration of the loan period. You can only download the eBook one time using the download URL, and the eBook file that you receive is workstation-specific and will not open if transferred to another workstation.
